Day 26: Happy Birthday Tequila

Today my first born child (much smaller and furrier than my other two) turned 8 years old.  Tequila was adopted from a little house in Lodgegrass, Montana and brought home to my little house in Billings, Montana.  She was less than 1 lb when I brought her home at 8 weeks old and ate only baby food.  When I first introduced her to Jesse as my dog he replied "that's not a dog."  Needless to say she was offended!

We came very close to losing our little Tiki a couple of years ago when she got very sick with meningitis.  Our vet had told us that Tiki was losing her sight, hearing, and balance because of a brain tumor.  We scheduled an appointment with the vet to have her put to sleep and Jesse even made a very small casket for our chihuahua.  We just happened to get in to see a specialist in town that diagnosed her with meningitis, not a brain tumor, and put her on some good steroids.  So if you know Tequila I'm sure you've noticed that in the last couple of years she looks like she has bulked up, yes thats due to the 'roids!  Fortunately we have not witnessed any roid rage.  :)
A look back at some of our favorite pictures of Tequila Rose Beaudette.
Lovin' the sweater!

After a haircut.

Tequila used to sleep like this all the time.  She hasn't slept on her back since she got sick.  :(

What a cutie.

A turkey bone from Thanksgiving.  She thought it was Christmas.

Another great doggy sweater.

 Happy Birthday Tiki!!
