November 2011

Now that Brooklynn is in school she has friends other than Mom, Dad, and Irelyn!  She was invited to Jacob's birthday party which was held at the Corn Maze and Petting Farm.  The girls and I made it through the very large maze but I was getting a little nervous as it started raining on us.  We all had a lot of fun, the girls with the activities and myself watching my big girl making new friends

Jacob, the birthday boy, and Brooklynn (notice Irelyn snuck into the background :)

Our church sets up a great Pumpkin Patch as a fundraiser so we made our annual trip to pick out pumpkins.  Brooklynn located the largest pumpkin in the patch and Dad accepted the challenge.  Notice it took the strength of all 3 of them to get it up the HUGE hill!

Brooklynn loved cleaning out the pumpkin.  Once again, please notice what is going on in the background of this picture.

Our church also puts on an amazing carnival for the kids.  Brooklynn left for the carnival as a beautiful Cinderella and after a little face paint at the carnival, returned home as Gothic Cinderella! I tried to talk her into getting a pretty butterfly painted on her cheek but nope, she wanted to be a scary skeleton.  We are raising a young lady that knows what she wants and is not easily pursuaded.

Our little social butterfly was also invited to a very fun Halloween party.  Brooklynn and Mom enjoyed the haunted house, some play time on a great train set, and a walk through the spooky graveyard!

We had a lot of fun trick-or-treating this year with Piglet (see below:) and Cinderella.  Those two worked the system!  Brooklynn would politely say "Trick-or-Treat" when the door opened and Irelyn would discretely reach into the candy bowl to grab as much candy as her little hand could hold.  I tell you what, it sure did make this Mom proud!

Irelyn sat and visited with Light (appropriately named by Brooklynn) after we returned from stealing receiving candy from our wonderful neighbors.

And now a few random pictures from the last few weeks.

"Ohhh, I have to wait how long for the next blog update?"
